 Family History and Churchyard Enquiries

Looking for a long-lost ancestor? Looking to locate a grave?

All Church of England churches hold registers that are wonderful sources of information for people researching their family tree. We regularly receive enquiries from people researching their genealogy. Although we only physically hold registers for more recent years, we can search records back to the early 1800s.

We hold registers of Baptisms, Weddings, Burials and Interments of Ashes. We also hold a register of Monumental Inscriptions which is correct up to 2003.

The churchyard was closed for burials into new graves in 1974, but cremated remains are interred in our memorial gardens or into existing family graves.

If you are simply looking to locate a grave this can normally be done without a fee, provided we are supplied with the name of the person buried and the year. If you wish us to search the registers more widely please contact us by email or letter, giving as much detail as possible. There is a small fee for this service.
