We were pleased to be asked by Hamstel School Children’s Centre to paint the fence adjacent to their inside play area. Keen to foster closer links with the school we gladly said ‘yes’ without realizing that they were thinking of a mural! When we visited to work out how much creosote we’d need they explained their vision of a beach scene with sandcastles, beach huts and boats. It was a surprise but, firmly believing that when God presents a challenge He also supplies the means, we mustered a team and got to work.
The result surprised us all – it’s really quite good and everyone at the Children’s Centre is delighted with it. Grateful thanks are due to Alan and Sally Willis, John Axcell, Father Tom, David Ambrose and Kevin Holmes for their artistic brilliance and hard work.
