Our Family Eucharist on 3rd September was special in several ways; it was a Mothers Union Deanery service, and, without wishing to diminish in any way the significance of that, even more importantly it saw two of our congregation, Brenda and George Ferguson, renewing their wedding vows after 50 years of marriage. Brenda is normally to be found singing in our choir with George looking on from amongst the congregation. On this special day they sat together amongst their friends in the pews and were joined for the occasion by several members of their family.
Although it can never be as significant as their wedding day, it was a memorable occasion enjoyed by all and needless to say following the service a bountiful supply of cakes and liquid refreshment of several varieties was enjoyed by all. It wouldn’t be Holy Trinity if the bubbly wasn’t produced!
