Reminder - 'The Marriage Course' starts next week

The Marriage Course was developed to offer married couples, whether married for 1 year or 50 years, the opportunity to come together and talk about important issues that can get swept under the carpet in the rush of daily life. One of Holy Trinity's neighbours - The Southend Christian Fellowship - is running the Marriage Course for 7 weeks starting on Monday 6th June. For more information, have a look at the following website: http://www.southendchristianfellowship.org.uk/community/marriage-course/ If you're interested in attending then do get in touch with Annette at annette@southendchristianfellowship.org.uk

Vicar's Letter for June - Being an Open Church

You may remember that I spoke at the APCM about my desire to have the church open for a portion of the week. I’m writing this in early May - hopefully by now it’s well underway. This is something that the PCC has discussed and supports but I wanted to share with you why I think it’s important. How many people turn up and find our church locked when they’re looking for a quiet space, somewhere to pray, or somewhere they or their family have a connection with? A Bible commentary fit for twitter

There's sixty-six books of the bible and an Australian theologian has had a go at summarising every single one in 'tweet' length posts. It's profound, funny and beautiful in equal measure. Fancy a bible study with the Archbishop?

Of course you do! Follow the link below for a 20 minute bible study with the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Revd Chris Russell as together they look at a passage that recalls the disciples life changing first encounter with Jesus. https://www.facebook.com/archbishopofcanterbury/videos/1013036965417116/

Pentecost Celebration

On Sunday we celebrated the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. In the photo is our Pentecost cake - each candle representing a part of someone's life where we would like the Holy Spirit to come and help us. It's also a bit like a birthday cake, which is great as Pentecost is the birthday party of the church. Come, Holy Spirit!

Mental Health Awareness Fortnight

Monday marks the beginning of a fortnight of activities aiming to "highlight the effects of stress and anxiety and the positive steps people can take to increase mental resilience". Kan Sanderson, the chief executive of South East and Central Essex Mind says: “Mental Health Awareness fortnight is an opportunity for people to get involved in the organisation and to raise awareness on stress and anxiety. We need to end the stigma so people with mental health issues feel able to ask for help”. 'Hail the day that sees him rise'

Join us for our special services on this important day in the Christian year. Thursday 5th May 10am - Holy Communion 8pm - Eucharist
